Hotel EL Shinjuku 6

The staff were really nice to us, but the place was an odd setup, more like a shared hostel than what most people would call a hotel. The Airbnb listing should be clearer about what guests are getting. Most of the listed features are shared with the other tenants, but that isn't explained. The rooms are so close that you can hear other people's conversations even when you whisper, which made the stay awkward. It could work as budget accommodation, but the listing price is far too high for what's actually provided.

The hosts were friendly, and the location was excellent for exploring Tokyo. The room might feel small if you're tall, but we had no problems. There's a 7eleven just around the corner too! 👍

The kitchen made this stay especially practical with our 3-year-old. It had the utensils we needed to cook, and there was also a bathtub, smart toilet, cupboard, TV, and sofa bed. The low main bed fit the three of us comfortably, with another bed available if needed. Our first-floor room was clean and thoughtfully laid out, though compact, as you’d expect in Tokyo. We were at Hotel Alshinjuku 6/202 for five nights in the first week of April. Two metro stations were about a seven-minute walk, and a bus stop was closer. A 7-Eleven was only two minutes away. There was shared laundry and a place for strollers and shoes, and staff were generally around in the mornings. The building spans several floors and has no lift. Since we arrived late and there was no staff on site then, carrying our luggage upstairs was tough, even though the Airbnb instructions were clear. We could hear some noise from other rooms at night, but it didn’t bother us much. A good-value, convenient option for families.

Our rental, number 203, worked well for three people, with a double bed and a small sofa bed. There was a separate little kitchen with a rice cooker and microwave, plus a shared cooking area. A Seven Eleven was just a 30-second walk away, handy for a quick bite. We got in on the evening of March 12th. The limousine bus from Haneda Airport dropped us about five minutes away, and both E29 and KO 02 stations were around a 10-minute walk, so getting around Tokyo was easy.
