The rooms were roomy by Japan’s standards, but they need updating. The food was the worst part of the stay. Breakfast had very little choice: supermarket instant oatmeal packets, croissants in plastic wrappers, and chocolate cereal as the only cold option. The service was incredibly slow. My latte took 20 minutes, and when I gave up and went to the coffee pot, it was empty. For room service breakfast, they show you a sheet of packaged bread and pastries. That’s not what I’d expect from a 4 star hotel, especially since food was a highlight at every other hotel we stayed at. Late checkout is another thing to consider: they charge for each hour after 11am.

Our first stay in Japan set a pretty high bar. We had a spacious corner king room on an upper floor, with every amenity we needed and even a full makeup vanity. The bed was really comfortable, and the hotel was so quiet we never heard anyone beyond the lobby. Breakfast was included and amazing. I’d love to know how they make the salad dressing and vegetable soup so I could have them every day. The bar was included too, but we were too tired each night to try it. The front desk staff were friendly and spoke English very well, which helped since my Japanese isn’t very good.

Hotel Grand Bach Tokyo Ginza feels like a peaceful retreat, even though it’s in the heart of Ginza. Shops, restaurants, and transit are just steps away, and I knew as soon as I arrived that I’d picked the right place. The lobby is warm, understated, and sophisticated, with subtle musical touches in the elegant, calming design. My room was spotless, thoughtfully laid out, and functional. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, the lighting worked well, and the bathroom felt luxurious without going overboard. Service was a highlight. The staff were gracious, attentive, and professional, and every interaction felt natural and welcoming. They seemed to anticipate what I needed. Breakfast stood out as well: beautifully presented, balanced, and distinctly Japanese with a refined twist. It felt more like a carefully put together restaurant meal than a standard hotel buffet. For a boutique stay in one of Tokyo’s best neighborhoods, with serenity, precision, and genuine hospitality, Hotel Grand Bach Tokyo Ginza delivers. I’d absolutely stay again.

We booked a Bach corner king room, which was quite spacious for Tokyo, with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The location is very convenient, close to the metro station, and check-in and checkout were efficient. It was great value for money. The bathroom could have been cleaner.

The room itself was good, but poor service left me disappointed. Shortly after we woke up, the staff were rude and hurried us to leave, saying we’d have to pay extra if we stayed any longer. The bathroom was also extremely small and uncomfortable to use. I wouldn’t stay here again.
