Hotel Live Max Budget - Tokyo Hamura Station

I checked out a night early because I was exhausted and couldn’t stand staying there. Even sleeping felt uncertain, and it seemed like the hotel could ruin our vacation. The room was so uncomfortable that even walking around or using the toilet was unpleasant. The toilet smelled like old cloth and urine, and spraying room scent didn’t help. The shower took more than an hour to drain even though I didn’t soak. There was hair and filth in the fridge, torn wallpaper, badly tucked sheets that looked as if someone had slept in them before we checked in, and such dim lighting that we had to use our phone flashlights. The room may be affordable, but the stay wasn’t worth the mental exhaustion. I wish we’d read the Google reviews before booking, since they all seem consistent. They also don’t give refunds, which made it feel like a trap. Be careful before booking.

The hotel crew were really nice. It’s clean, inexpensive, and in a very good location.

We were exhausted when we came by to ask about room availability, but they had none, which happens. What I couldn’t understand was why the woman at the desk wouldn’t call us a taxi and just motioned for us to walk to the taxi stop. We did, and there were no taxis. Helping two tired travelers seemed like too much effort. One star for customer service. We won’t consider staying there in the future.

This was probably the worst hotel customer service I’ve ever experienced. We were exhausted and asked the woman to call a taxi for me and my wife after learning there were no rooms. She refused, then motioned us toward the station to find one, even though there were no taxis there and she should have known that. Why was it so hard to reach for the phone and help two weary foreigners get a ride?
