Hotel Livemax Kamata Ekimae

The location worked well for my recent trip, since I had multiple flights to and from Haneda and wasn’t heading into central Tokyo or Yokohama every day for sightseeing. It’s a short walk to the JR/Tokyu station and lots of restaurants. Keep in mind, though, that being directly between Tokyo and Yokohama means hitting rush hour in both directions. Check-in is through automated machines, and staff point you to them first. They’ll step in to guide you if you don’t find the next button quickly enough. I know they mean well, but I’m not looking at that screen every day, so it takes me more than five seconds to work out what to press. The room was standard in size and amenities, with an all-in-one prefabricated bathroom. The tub was a reasonable size, but there wasn’t much room to move between it and the toilet. I appreciated having both a soft and firm pillow, and my own microwave was a nice bonus. The curtains let light in around the edges, so the room was brighter than I wanted at 6 AM.

The room was a good size, though the bed felt a bit small for the two of us. The station is very close, with easy access to the airport.

We chose this place for getting to Haneda airport. The room was fine, though a bit old, and I forgot to take pictures. There are a few konbini nearby and some nice little streets to walk around for food. The one problem was the horrible bathroom smell when we first entered. The shower drain stank, and we had to run water to help flush the smell away.

The room was small, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom very modern. It’s a short walk to the metro station, six stops from Haneda Airport.
