The staff were friendly, but only a few could speak basic English. Our beds were extremely hard, and we woke up sore every day, though that may be because we’re used to softer mattresses. Some personal items went missing from the room during our stay. We only realized after leaving, and since this was our first hotel, we’re 100% sure they disappeared here. We tried emailing them and contacting them through Booking.com, but sadly never got a single reply.

The location is one of the best spots for exploring Tokyo, with lots of stores and bars nearby, public transit close, and Shinjuku Station about a 5-10 minute walk away. It’s central for heading out to different districts. Booking a love hotel was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t know what to expect, and it’s a little jarring at first if you’re unfamiliar with them, but if you don’t have kids and can get past that, this place feels like a five-star stay for less than five-star money. The room is like a little apartment, and I’ve never had this many amenities before. There’s every kind of lotion or cream you can imagine. Service is quick and care free, since people are always coming and going at a love hotel.

A lovely stay in a perfect area, close to everything. The rooms were huge and kept very clean, with a nice big bed. The bathrooms were spacious and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

This is a romance hotel, and they take good care of their guests. Almost everything is supplied for free, so you don’t need to bring much. We really enjoyed the hot tub and the free sake, and that’s just the start of what they provide. The location was perfect and the service pretty amazing. We flew in from America, and can honestly say America needs to take some pointers from this place. Highly recommend! Shout out to the very nice young man who spoke English! 🙏💜

The love hotel label may put some people off, but if you’re comfortable with what that means and aren’t traveling with a minor, Hotel Perrier is worth considering. These hotels often cater to couples looking for adult activities, but a good one can offer more space, amenities, service, and value than a typical Japanese hotel. Regular rooms can be comically small unless you pay for a high-end place. My Hotel Perrier suite had a king-size bed, sofa and coffee table, large flatscreen TV, stocked minibar, coffee maker, small closet, massage chair, and karaoke machine. There was also a separate washroom, a separate room for the high-tech Japanese toilet, and a sizable bath area with a jacuzzi tub, its own TV, and a built-in foam mat whose use I’ll leave to your imagination. It cost only a little more than a typical tourist or business hotel. The bathroom had pretty much every toiletry a couple could need, and check-in came with another small amenity kit. There were handy English guides to the room features and Tokyo, and an English-speaking staff member was available to help, especially at check-in and check-out. Check-in was easy, though the counter is hidden behind privacy glass for discretion. Staff explained that when leaving, you hand your key to the counter and get a card to exchange for it when you return. Check-out was just as easy, and the nice girl at the counter was happy to hold our luggage before a late-night flight. We spent several days appreciating the hotel and Shinjuku. The TV offered plenty of content, including English movies on demand and adult fare in Japanese. Wi-Fi worked well. The jacuzzi and massage chair were great for relaxing after long days exploring Tokyo, and the good soundproofing and large, soft bed made it easy to sleep. The AC unit looked like the only part of the room that wasn’t up to date, but it worked well. Kabukicho is Shinjuku’s red-light district, so be aware that many places nearby cater to more mature tastes, though it felt pretty safe, like most of Japan. Beyond bars, hostess clubs, and other adult fare, there’s plenty to see in Shinjuku. Shinjuku Gyoen park is a short walk away, with lots of restaurants and shops scattered around. A 7-11 just down the street covers convenience store needs. Hotel Perrier is a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station, but that leaves it somewhat removed from the noise and bustle of Kabukicho’s main drag and offers more quiet and discretion than hotels nearer the station. With big bags, a taxi could be worthwhile when getting off or catching a train like the Narita Airport express. The service is as good as at a regular Japanese hotel, with space and amenities you’d otherwise find only at very expensive luxury places in Tokyo.
