Hotel Queen Annex

The VIP suite is amazing, get it! Our stay was incredible, and the gentleman at reception gave outstanding customer service in English. He even helped us contact the train station where we’d left our bag the day before. The hotel is in an unbeatable spot, walking distance from Shinjuku station and within a block of Eagle Club, Dragon Men, Kingdom, and Absorb. 5/5, so good!

The VIP Room is worth seeing, with karaoke, a washing machine, and the biggest bed I’ve ever seen. It’s on the basement floor with no window, which worked well for overseas travelers dealing with jet lag. I stayed four nights, knowing from online reviews that this was a love hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and nice, and unlike what I’d read before booking, they all spoke English. Everyone there, including the other guests, was respectful, and I felt very safe. It’s great value for the money. We tried to book it again for our second stay in Tokyo but it was sold out. If I visit Tokyo again, I’ll definitely book here.

The shower pressure alone made the stay worthwhile. Our room was about the size of rooms in US hotels, and although the decor was over the top, I liked it. It was a great location for us. The only drawback was being in a smoking room, which smelled for a few minutes whenever we came back.

Our room was tiny, but the amenities and location were much better. The staff member with glasses communicated well and was very helpful. I think his name was Yoshi, if I’ve got that right. He gave us useful restaurant suggestions and helped translate while we made reservations. He also insisted on helping us get rid of our large broken suitcase, which is difficult to dispose of, and it cost less than a tenth of what we found through the private sector. He didn’t expect anything in return.
