Kamenoi Hotel Ome

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were polite and friendly. I appreciated the complimentary afternoon coffee and tea, as well as the free shuttle to the train station. We booked breakfast at the hotel. There was unlimited milk, orange juice, coffee, and tea, and we could get more rice. The meal was traditional Japanese food, but it didn't seem very fresh, which was disappointing. I also couldn't use the public bath because I have a tattoo. I know that's common in Japan, though I hope the rules become more flexible in the future. It was still a pleasant stay, with good service and cleanliness for the price.

The onsen was clean, with no mould, and looked out over the river. The baths switched between men's and women's use in the mornings and evenings, so I got a chance to use the outdoor bath, which isn't available in both. My Japanese-style room was immaculately clean. The air conditioning was controlled from the room, and they provided a humidifier for the dry air. Staff were friendly and professional, and the food was fresh, delicious, and carefully made. There was also a drinks bar open until 9 pm and a shop selling local foods. The minibus runs to and from Ome station, which made getting there easy. A relaxing, pleasant stay. I'd visit again.

We had a little confusion with the booking at first, but then settled in and enjoyed the hotel and the nearby parts of town. There are lovely river views and walks, and Ome Kyuryo parkrun is close by. The onsen was great if that's your kind of thing.

We enjoyed the hotel's meals, especially dinner, and the service was excellent. The rooms are large and have the features you'd want, though the centrally controlled air conditioning runs too warm and there's not much you can do about it. It's a 15-minute walk from Ome station, but the hotel shuttle helps with that. The onsen is basic but good enough, and there's a nice park nearby for walks in the morning or evening. The autumn leaves were beautiful while we were there. Dogs are welcome at the hotel.
