It’s affordable and fairly clean, and the place felt pretty cozy. There’s no elevator, so be ready to carry your luggage upstairs if you’re bringing a lot.

The location worked well, in a quiet spot with a short bus ride to Asakusa or about a five-minute walk to the subway. The coin laundry in the building was handy, and the shared bathroom and showers were clean enough. The room was very cheap, so you get what you pay for: there was hair on the sheets and pillows, and the walls were so thin I could hear loud snoring and kids running around late at night.

I came from Minnesota for my first trip to Japan and spent a week here. I was really happy I chose this hotel. It’s in a lovely neighborhood with plenty of places to eat, convenience stores like 7/11, Lawson, my basket, and train stations within walking distance. Asakusa shrine and the food and gift shops around it are also an easy walk away, along with plenty more to see. The rooms are plain, small places to sleep, not big luxury spaces. Mine had a comfortable bed with plenty of pillows and blankets, plus a mini fridge, little desk, small TV, and A/C. You can ask at the front for extra bedding, I believe. The shared bathrooms were well maintained, though they could have been a little cleaner. The laundry and drying machines on the second floor cost 100 yen coins, and detergent powder is available if you don’t want to buy your own. There’s also a microwave. I slept well every night I came back. The staff were kind and tried hard to help with anything I needed, even though English isn’t their first language. I had no complaints and was more than satisfied. I’d stay here again when I return. Highly recommend it.

There isn’t much room to open your luggage unless you fold the mattress up, but that was fine for me. The room itself was just the right size for sleeping. It was also handy to have a microwave for food, a heater for warming water, and a laundry room. The bathroom was on the same floor as my room, which was better than at the other hotel across the way. Minami-Senju Station on the Hibiya Line is the nearest station. Shimadaya Market is close for groceries, with a 7/11 a bit farther along.
