Keio Presso Inn Tokyo Station Yaesu

We booked this for one night after landing late in Tokyo, before taking the train to kyoto the next day. The location worked really well for that, close to Tokyo station, with plenty of good coffee shops nearby. Staff were lovely, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. Our premium room was larger than most and spacious by Tokyo standards, as well as very clean and tidy. But the bed and pillow were rock hard. It honestly felt like sleeping on a concrete slab, and there seemed to be hard rocks inside the pillows. We layered our soft clothes over them, which only softened the blow a little. My partner likes a firm mattress and still struggled. Maybe it was just our room, but I wouldn't suggest staying more than a night unless you like an EXTRA firm bed. I'm baffled that it's allowed 😅

The staff greeted us whenever we came into the lobby, which felt very hospitable. It's a very convenient base, close to Tokyo station and connecting stations like Ginza and Kyobashi. The rooms were clean and small, as you'd expect in Japan, but we managed to fit three large suitcases, one at a time. On level 6 there's coin laundry and a dryer, plus ice and vending machines. I'd definitely stay here again if I wanted to be central in Tokyo.

The rooms were clean, well cared for, and worked well. Staff were lovely, though their English was limited. Some of the technology feels a little dated, as it does in parts of Japan, but everything worked fine. Tokyo station is a five-minute walk, with all the JR lines departing from there. A great spot for exploring Tokyo, and I'd highly recommend it.

We stayed one night while passing through, and the location was the main draw, though it does mean a high price. The rooms are small but manageable if you don't bring much luggage. There's a large luggage storage area for guests who arrive early or want to leave bags after checkout.
