Minn Kamata

The apartment itself was very nice, but the cloud check-in made the stay frustrating. We arrived 25 minutes early and weren’t allowed to check in yet. With nobody on site, we also couldn’t leave our big bags at reception while we went to find food. The iPad froze twice, and waiting for it to reset made check-in take a long time. The biggest problem came on our last day. We checked out at 10am, but our flight wasn’t until the following evening, and there was nowhere secure to store our luggage. At a staffed hotel we’d have been able to leave it, but instead we had to drag it around straight after checkout and nearly lost the whole day. We couldn’t do the things we’d planned. If I’d known about the limits of this cloud check-in setup, I wouldn’t have booked here. I’ll try to avoid Cloud Check In in future. That limitation is a bad one.

There’s a FamilyMart nearby, and Kamata Station is roughly a 7-minute walk away. Downstairs, you use an iPad to check in and out. The room has bunk beds, which were very comfortable, and there’s a good amount of space. The bathroom and toilet are separate. It also comes with a kitchen and cooking gear, a fridge, washing machine, and drying rack.

The room had great facilities, and the staff member on the video call was friendly and polite. Getting into the room was the snag: the code we received didn’t work, so we had to go back to the lobby and call again. After a while, they told us to use the physical key. A smoother way to get into our room would have been much better.

We were there October 7th to 13th, and the room was what we liked most. It was very clean and had all the things we needed. You can even borrow an iron if you need one. There’s a small kitchen, washing machine, and balcony where we could dry clothes. For the price, it felt well worth it. Kamata Station was an easy walk, and the neighborhood was cozy and clean.
