Oak Hotel Edo - Hostel

I stayed four nights in a dorm and mostly used it as a base to sleep or drop off my things. The bunk was roomy, with two outlets and a personal light. Lockers fit a small backpack and a few other items, while there was plenty of room for larger bags behind the bunks. I had no trouble with theft, but I’d still lock up anything valuable. There are full showers and toilets on the second and third floors, plus a shared dorm powder room with three sinks and mirrors. Several nearby train stations were convenient and usually not too busy, and the view from the 10th floor was great. Coin washers and dryers are in the room by the entrance, and they don’t use detergent. Staff answered my questions and gave me a map with nearby restaurant suggestions. I’d recommend it if you want an affordable Tokyo stay.

The rooms were very clean, the location was ideal, and the service was fantastic. Taro went out of his way for me three times. I asked about a nearby Yaki Imo shop, and he called convenience stores one by one to see if they sold it. After I left my laptop on the shared kitchen table, he worked out it was mine and brought it to my room. Later, when I needed to check in with my new guesthouse, he and Mikio helped call them and arrange transportation. Thanks for the great service.

We spent five nights here, and the staff were extremely helpful with recommendations and advice on getting to the airport with luggage. There are a train station and bus station a block away, plenty of restaurants nearby, and a laundry room just outside the lobby. The rooms are on the small side, with little room for big suitcases. Each has a tiny balcony, but unless you’re on an upper floor, it looks out onto the back street. For the price, it’s a great hotel, and I’d stay again.

This was our second stay at Oak Hotel Edo, and the staff welcomed us with a sweet card they’d written. We enjoyed both visits. The hotel is quiet and clean, about two minutes from Morishita Station, with several convenience stores and places to eat nearby. The staff are friendly and helpful, and we’ll choose it again when we’re back in Tokyo.
