Breakfast is included, but you need to reserve a spot at reception each night and choose a time and menu. There’s a traditional Japanese breakfast and one “continental” option. The hotel is on the small side, but somehow feels cozy and inviting, with bed-and-breakfast vibes. The rooms are small too, though quite open. We had a private onsen, which was well worth it. After a long day walking, we loved ending the evening with a hot bath to relax our feet and bodies. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the subway, 15 minutes to Tokyo Skytree, 12 minutes to the river and cherry blossoms if they’re in season, and six minutes to a 7/11. There are lots of small shops nearby, a couple of restaurants, including a halal ramen place we recommend, and a popular matcha spot. The staff were kind, attentive, and did their best to help. They’ll also hold your luggage on check-in or check-out days while you’re out. We recommend it mostly for couples, though it could suit friends too. We’re two cis women married to each other, and the staff treated us with kindness and respect when we mentioned this was our anniversary trip.

We paid for a splurge at the end of our trip, but came away with some regrets. The room had a musty, old smell, and although the outdoor bathtub was a big part of the appeal, the water wasn’t heated at 9 pm on our second day. Maybe someone had used all the hot water. There are plenty of sento nearby, so it wasn’t a major problem, but for that price we could have stayed somewhere nicer. We should’ve gone back to century southern tower. The place was nice otherwise.

The room was small, as is usually the case in Japan, but we booked a double and found the TV oddly positioned right beside the bed. The windows didn’t open and had no view, and the moldy smell and lack of air circulation made us feel claustrophobic. On the plus side, the staff were welcoming, the lobby was cute, and the Japanese breakfast was delicious. The location was convenient for Haneda airport and about a five-minute walk from the Asakusa metro.

We felt very welcome and had a really pleasant stay. The rooms are incredibly beautiful and spacious for Tokyo. I’d definitely come back with my travel groups, and many thanks to all the friendly staff.
