It was peaceful at night, even though Shinjuku is close enough to reach on foot. The place was clean and had what I needed for a short stay.

The host replied quickly, the location worked well, and check-in and checkout were easy. I wish the stay had matched those positives, but the room was far too cramped for two adults. There was barely room to move around, and opening two suitcases on the floor was nearly impossible without risking a trip. The layout also made little sense. The TV faced the entrance, but there was only one chair, and neither bunk had a clear view of the screen. The stairs to the upper bunk took up a lot of the limited space, while a wooden rail around the lower bunk made it awkward for an adult to get out. It might suit one person or an adult with a child, but not two adults. The room wasn't as clean as other places I've stayed in Japan. The bathroom toilet-and-sink combination had no warm water, so we brushed our teeth and washed our hands at the kitchen sink instead, which felt uncomfortable and unhygienic. I wouldn't stay here again. If possible, I'd spend a bit more for somewhere with space to move around and relax.

I arrived, found the accommodation unacceptable, and immediately booked somewhere else. The beds were awful, the place hadn't been cleaned well, and the room itself was terrible. The shower and toilet were tiny, and there wasn't even a basin. I've never before left a hotel right after arriving. The money I spent here was wasted.

We paid around 150 usd per night, which felt really expensive. Check-in wasn't until 4pm, and there was no receptionist or anyone to help us with our luggage.
