Ryokan Asakusa Mikawaya Honten

The person running the place was friendly, and the room was comfortable with a tatami feel. It was conveniently close to major metro lines. I had a good stay, thank you.

I'm back home now after five nights here on my Japan holiday. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, especially the owner, and I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, and it's easy to get to Asakusa Station. We had a nice view of Skytree from our room. I'll definitely stay here again when I visit Tokyo. I'm home!

The location made this ryokan especially good value: a train station and pretty much everything a visitor needs are within 100 meters. It was clean and comfortable, with fresh towels each day, and had the essentials for a traditional stay: tea supplies, robes, slippers, toiletries, Wi-Fi, a fridge, air conditioning, and a hair dryer. Laundry is available for an extra charge. The owner called the room, bathroom, and lift “Japanese size” after my daughter was surprised by how small they were. The building feels a bit dated, and the beds weren't put away during the day like they were at other ryokans I’ve stayed in. That worked out for us, though, since we were still adjusting to the time zone. I’ve paid more for smaller hotels in worse locations, so this was fantastic value. The staff’s hospitality was outstanding. Thank you!

The rooms may feel small, even if you're average height, but I got used to mine quickly. The location is excellent, prices are very good, and the Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect to. I was especially grateful to be allowed to check in early when my room was ready after a tiring trip from the airport. The service was so warm and attentive. I’d definitely stay again 😊
