The only drawback for me was the walk to Ikebukuro Station, about 12-15 minutes. I didn't mind it most of the time, since the area is lively, but after a long day shopping with bags it could feel far. I'd still like to stay again. I booked seven nights at KOKO Ikebukuro East just one day before I needed a place in Tokyo. Luckily, they had a room at a discount, especially compared with the other options. I'd worried after reading negative reviews, but those concerns went away when I arrived. To get to reception, you can use the stairs down to B1 or buzz the intercom and have someone let you in through the first-floor door, which was easier with my heavy luggage. The receptionist was super friendly. When she heard I'd stayed at another KOKO hotel in Fukuoka, she offered free membership, which only needed an email. That got me a 12:00PM checkout instead of the usual 11:00AM, handy because my flight wasn't until 6PM. They gave me a small welcome gift of dashi stock and a coin for the gashapon machine with little snacks. The amenities table had just about everything: cleansing oil and gel, toner, emulsion, razors, bath salts, and even miso. There was also a nice first-floor lounge with free drinks, and the coffee was surprisingly good. The room was small but decent by Tokyo standards. I had two suitcases and managed fine.

The location was convenient and brilliant, but quiet. Staff were approachable, friendly, and helpful, and there's a laundry room plus a common space for tea, coffee, and some food. The room is tiny and doesn't have much space, though you can still walk around. It and the bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. It's fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep.

The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe, and the price was reasonable. The room was small but comfortable and clean, and the bed fit two adults without feeling cramped. Amenities were good too. The downside is the location, about a 13-15 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station. With luggage, it could take longer to get there.

The rooms were too hot, but otherwise fine. The location could be closer to the station. I don't think the distance suits many tourists, since it's a 15-20 minute walk if you don't jaywalk. The staff were 10/10. They arranged an XL taxi at the last minute for our four big suitcases and saved our trip home. Forever thankful 💙

The room itself was clean and perfectly sufficient, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I also liked having free coffee and lobby vending machines with microwaveable food. Getting around wasn’t ideal for me: the station is about a 15-minute walk, through the main shopping area. That’s handy if you want to be near the action, including chiikawa park, but it may not suit you if you’re after a quieter spot close to transit. A few shared facilities needed attention. The dryer had a thick coating of dust inside, there were spilled coffee beans and tiny bugs by the coffee machine, and the lobby drink vending machine was out of order.
