Sakura Sky Hotel

The staff cleaned the room every day and provided lots of complimentary items, including face masks, face wash, razors, and rubber bands. It’s a very nice hotel, and the nearby train and subway stations make it easy to get lines to anywhere. I’d highly recommend it.

There’s plenty of room for one person, and the staff were really nice. Not everyone spoke fluent English, but they understood me, did their best to communicate, and answered all my questions. Kinshicho station is about a five-minute walk, with JR and metro connections that can get you most places. Shibuya takes around 40 minutes, but there’s a direct connection. Two Family Marts and lots of restaurants are along the route to the station and around the hotel. They offer laundry drop-off in the morning for pickup later that day, as well as luggage delivery to other cities in Japan. For delivery, book the pickup ahead through their QR code so you can check the estimated timing. For example, Tokyo to Kyoto picked up at 9 AM is listed for delivery at 9 PM the same day. Some rooms also have a view of Tokyo Sky Tree.

The hotel turned out better than I expected for the price. From outside and in the lobby, it looks like a small business hotel, but the rooms are larger than they seem, with space for bags, a real closet, and room to move around. There’s an entry hallway, a separate tub and shower, a separate toilet, and a hallway sink with outlets by the mirror. The building feels a bit old, and the hallways surprised me, though they weren’t an issue. It’s near a station with a couple of lines. It isn’t on the Yamanote loop, which is more convenient for seeing everything, but this isn’t a remote location and it’s still good. The staff speak English fluently. I’d stay again at a good price.

We had a great stay while exploring Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. The place has a nice mix of modern and traditional style.
