Serendipity Kinshicho

For a family vacation in Japan, this place worked really well for us. It was clean and new, with the appliances and cleaning supplies we needed. I'm glad we stayed here.

I also stayed at Hakone Tenyu Onsen Hotel on this trip, but this is the one I remember most and miss most 🥺. Maybe that's because Taiwan has hotels like Tenyu, while this stay felt completely different, like a real Japanese family home. The location was great. I didn't have time to visit the discount store, but it was on my walk back from the station, so I picked up a few things and strolled home. There's also a cheap supermarket. After a hot day in Japan, I washed my clothes when I got back, and they were dry by the next morning. The washer and dryer were fantastic, and my clothes no longer smelled awful every day. The little extras were so thoughtful: the bathroom had two sanitary pads for emergencies, and the foot massager with heated eye masks was relaxing to fall asleep with. The Dyson air purifier could also be used as a fan. And the small, light, foldable hair dryer had such strong airflow. It was practically the best I've used in hotels and guesthouses, comparable to Dyson. I looked it up and bought one when I got back to Taiwan, and it was surprisingly cheap! The selection is impressive.

We were there for four days and would definitely stay again, especially with children. The place felt very comfortable and the location was extremely handy. In the mornings, local vegetable sellers next door had fruit and vegetables, and there was an AEON supermarket diagonally across the street. It was close to Kinshi Station, with plenty of restaurants along the way and even a discount store. The building beside the station had almost everything we wanted to buy in Japan, including ABC Mart, Akagi, and Uniqlo.

We were very satisfied. Our room was clean, with wide beds, and roomy enough for three people to fully open our big suitcases and still have space to sort through our shopping. The location is absolutely insane, with all three major convenience store chains nearby and a supermarket right across the street.
