Smi:re Stay Tokyo

We stayed a week and have no complaints. The rooms are tiny, but cute and compact, and worked well for three people. Everything was cosy and CLEAN, and the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. It’s a good little place for a reasonable price. Each room has a bathroom with free supplies, clean towels and slippers, a washing machine, air conditioning, a TV with HDMI input, a mini fridge, a stove, and a microwave. 7eleven is about five minutes away, and the station takes 10-15 minutes on foot. There are vending machines nearby for a quick coffee, or you can head to the reception/bar for a drink and a chat with the staff. :)

It’s a cute place, and there’s a bus stop right outside. One train line is about a ten minute walk away. The stairs are steep and have small steps. There’s a bed on the raised floor under the AC, and the futon opens into a full size bed. The floor is wooden. We couldn’t work out how to dry clothes in the washer/dryer, so we hung them on the supplied rack and hangers instead. Recycling bins were labeled, but there wasn’t a regular trash bin. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided, as were towels, toothbrushes and toothpaste, plates, utensils, and pots with a portable stove. You can cook there. A yukata is available from the front desk if you ask, and should be left in the room when you check out. The ashtrays outside have lids, but they’re very close to the bathroom window. When someone was smoking, the bathroom smelled if we opened it. Ask the receptionist how to use the water heater for the tub and shower, or you may end up washing in cold water. They also had a happy hour while we were there, which was pretty cool.

The apartments were spotless, the service was great, and the receptionists were really friendly. We also enjoyed the drinks at the bar. Would recommend it and will be back. 5**

We had a blast in Tokyo and didn’t have to worry about anything here. The neighborhood was friendly, with vending machines and convenience stores easy to get to. Rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were great, friendly, and very helpful. We even got free drinks, tasty Japanese craft beer. Highly recommended for budget travelers and anyone else.
