The Hideout Tokyo

The owners were so kind and sweet, and the hospitality made the stay feel special. The Barn Tokyo is tucked into a residential area near Ueno, just a few minutes from the JR station or Metro. The room and toilet were spotless, and the bed was really comfortable. A cozy, beautifully designed place. Highly recommend it.

We booked at the last minute for a long weekend in Tokyo and were really impressed. The rooms are stylish, comfortable, thoughtfully detailed, and a good size for Tokyo. The hotel had only recently opened when we stayed. A well connected station is two minutes away, so getting to shops, museums, and sights was easy, and there’s a 7-11 about a 30-second walk away. Great affordable boutique hotel. Recommended.

The Barn was a lovely place to begin our Japan trip. The area is quiet, but there’s plenty to see and it’s easy to explore on foot. We felt at home right away thanks to the warm welcome. The room had what we needed, the toilet was great, and the bed was comfortable. I’d definitely recommend it.

The room was spotless and everything was in excellent condition. It was compact by North American standards, but roomy for Tokyo. The shower was spacious, and the washroom had a Panasonic bidet toilet. There was a full double bed, plus a small bar fridge under one of the two nightstands. Staff were polite, helpful, and spoke English well. The hotel was quiet, easy to find down a narrow street, and a short walk from Uguisudani station or a little farther to Ueno Station. We also appreciated the local guidebook and the many nearby food options. We left feeling well looked after. We chose The Barn because of its strong reviews and weren’t disappointed.
