The Wardrobe Hostel Roppongi - Vacation STAY 93670

Cute place in a convenient spot, but the room is terribly small, with only about 1.5 ft between the beds. The two sinks are tiny, and I don't understand why they didn't have one decent-sized sink instead. Check-in rules are strict, and even though 5pm was the earliest check-in time, no one was at the desk when we arrived. We waited about half an hour for someone to show up. We booked through airbnb, and the host wasn't responsive to messages.

A good option for a quick, affordable night near Tokyo or Ueno stations if you only have a backpack. It's on the 5th floor of an office building, compact but clean and functional. The beds are roomy enough to sleep comfortably, as long as you don't have big bags with you. There are just two hooks by the bed and no hangers. Guests can use two showers, four toilets, and four sinks, though the hot water isn't reliable. They suggest the public bath around the corner. It's still a work in progress.

The late 5pm check-in time is awkward, and the staff were unprofessional and lazy about check-in and being available during staffed hours. There was no bag storage, so the room felt cramped and it was hard to move around quietly. There's a possible ¥20,000 fine for disturbing other guests with noise. One staff member was helpful, but I'd advise looking elsewhere.

The beds are clean, courteous pod-style beds. The space is small and compact, so it may feel tight if you're not used to Japanese spaces. I'd recommend it.
