Tokyo Bay Ariake Washington Hotel

The beds may feel hard to some people, though I was fine with them. I paid $253 AUD/ ¥26,056 for two nights, Friday to Sunday, in a Single Room with Wooden Floor - Non-Smoking. The room had great equipment and bathroom supplies, and the filtered coffee was so good that I asked housekeeping for more. They were happy to bring it. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and there’s convenient luggage storage on the ground floor before check-in or after checkout. For that price, I do wish breakfast had been included. There wasn’t room to store luggage in the room.

The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with lots to choose from, including bread, fruit, sashimi, and eel. The dining room is roomy and we barely had to wait. Check-out is until 11:00, and there’s plenty of luggage storage as well as a courier counter. Kokusaikaigi Station on the Rinkai Line is right outside. Most of the walk to the hotel is covered, so rain wasn’t a problem, and Yurikamome Station is also nearby via a covered walkway. There are three convenience stores by the station and hotel, plus a convenience store and McDonald's inside the building. It’s a large hotel with lots of rooms. Check-in is automated at the first-floor front desk, with English-speaking staff available. Our room was clean, and the single room was about the size of a typical Japanese business hotel room. Wi-Fi was fast enough for online meetings. A large hotel, and the breakfast was tasty.

It’s clean and good, and if you’re a member of the hotel group you can use the lounge for free soft and hot drinks during the day. The location is very good for exhibitions at Big Sight Tokyo. The one downside was that they wouldn’t give me a room before check-in time.

There’s a McDonald's and convenience store right in the hotel, and getting to TeamLab, Shibuya, and other areas is easy from this excellent location. The rooms are small, but comfortable.
