The host was kind and dependable, and would bring fresh towels when asked. The mattress, though, was very thin and pretty uncomfortable.

A nice hotel.

The owner was fantastic, very attentive, and quick to respond. I found the apartments fine, in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood, and the location fairly central for the price. Some neighbors were incredibly rude and seemed to complain about almost everything. I’d ignore the xenophobic comments, especially some of the ones from Japanese reviewers.

It was nice not having to meet the landlord, either during the stay or at checkout. We found several coin-operated parking lots and a supermarket within walking distance. The room was a little cramped for two, but we managed. I was disappointed there wasn’t a refrigerator. I knew there’d be no rice cooker or microwave, so I brought my own.

The room’s a bit small and doesn’t block sound very well, but at this price, I don’t think you’ll find accommodation of this quality in Tokyo.
