Wpu Shinjuku

We had enough room to open two large suitcases, and the rooms were clean. The soundproofing could be better, though. We heard several ambulances go by late at night, likely because of the location. Shinjuku station exit D5 was only about 5-7 minutes away, which was very convenient. The lounge tea was great, and we had some every morning. Friendly staff and lots of places to eat nearby. I’d definitely come back.

The lobby was a nice place to meet up with our group and plan the day over a beer from the vending machine. Breakfast is simple, but enough to get you going. Our rooms were clean and had what we needed, and the staff were incredibly helpful and fluent in both Japanese and English. The whole place has a relaxed feel while still getting you ready to head out. Great location too. I’ll stay again.

It was nice to be on the quieter side of Shinjuku while still close to the action, with Shinjuku station, shops, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Inside, the hotel was clean and comfortable. The rooms are small, but the space is used well. I especially liked the coffee in the room, and the free coffee, bread, and pastries were a nice extra. Every staff member we met spoke perfect English, and we really enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are basic but clean, and they work well if you’re heading out to see Tokyo and its neon lights. The location is really convenient. Service was a mixed bag. The person who checked us in was wonderful, helpful, kind, and full of useful information. At checkout, I asked how to get to the bus station for my airport bus. The staff member showed me a route on her tablet and told me to go to Shinjuku Station and buy a ticket, or do it online. Since Shinjuku Station is massive, I asked where exactly to go, but got no useful answer, just a wave off. She didn’t seem interested in helping someone with luggage, so I didn’t ask again. I like this hotel and the welcoming check-in staff, but management should review how some staff treat guests. If someone feels too cool to help clients, they may be in the wrong line of work. I’d use the hotel again, but if service is like that next time, it’ll be my last.
