Yadoya Guesthouse Green - Hostel

I wouldn’t recommend this guest house after the way the bed bug problem was handled. I booked four nights in the Samurai room and got bitten during the first two nights before realizing the room was infested. I told the staff the next morning. They seemed genuinely concerned, but needed management’s help and said there’d be a solution by evening. When I came back in the early evening, they said they couldn’t reach the manager and had tried to clean the room. There were still bed bugs, so I asked for another bed. The night staff put me in a bed assigned to another guest. By the time I realized, no staff were around to help, and nobody answered the emergency number. I wound up sleeping in the common room with other guests who hadn’t been given their room key at check-in. It was chaotic, and I’m grateful the other people in the dorms understood what we were dealing with. I finally got a refund the next morning when the manager could be reached. It was disappointing that the regular staff didn’t have the training or authority to handle bed bugs. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and didn’t deserve that stress. I was also surprised because some recent reviews on other sites mention bed bugs too. I know it’s a budget guest house and you get what you pay for, but there’s a basic standard guests should be able to expect, and Yadoya didn’t meet it.

I only stayed one night, and it was pretty good overall. The staff were very nice and spoke English, and there’s a shared kitchen. The main drawback was the noise when people moved around, since the floor is wooden and the walls are hollow, almost like plastic.

I visited friends here and had a look around, though I didn’t stay myself. It seemed like a relaxed, fun spot for tourists. The staff were really friendly and spoke English, and the common area had plenty of kitchen supplies, which was nice.

A basic but conveniently located hostel, about five minutes on foot from Nakano Station and close to a supermarket, shops, and restaurants. There’s a small ground-floor lounge for hanging out, plus movie nights, an oven, a fridge, and sometimes tea. I can’t say much about the staff since the shifts rotate, and some are friendly while others aren’t. Still, I have no reason to give the place less than five stars.
