The room and hot spring facilities were kept in good shape, and the ryokan itself felt cozy and well cared for up in the mountains. The food was fantastic, with game meats on offer. Highly recommended.

We loved drifting off with the river and surrounding nature as the soundtrack. The staff were friendly, and the priciest kaiseki course we chose was great. You can book a private onen and walk down to the river. The exterior looks a little old, but inside it’s clean and traditional.

The onsen was the best we tried in this area, and the food had lots of variety and some really interesting choices. Staff were very friendly. There was a small language barrier, but it didn’t cause trouble and may even have added to the experience. It felt like a real Japanese stay. I highly recommend this spot!

The onsen was lovely, the food delicious, and the staff helpful. I stayed here while doing Kohechi and would definitely come back.
