The restaurant run by the same owner was fantastic. A dinner course was only about 2300 yen, and I liked it more than a 4000 yen meal I had in Tokyo. The rooms and showers were clean, the bed was comfortable, and the owner was kind. I'd been concerned by a negative review, but he seemed gentle and kind to me. It's affordable too. The location is a bit away from the city center, though there's a bus stop and a beach nearby. I've stayed at lots of guesthouses in Japan, and based on my experience, the current 3.9 rating doesn't do this place justice. I'd put it around 4.2 or higher.

I really enjoyed staying here. It was clean, quiet, pleasant, and affordable, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom. Getting to the town centre and other POIs isn't especially convenient, so make sure you've finished your sightseeing for the day before checking in.

A nice place to get away from city noise and enjoy a calm atmosphere, fishing under blue skies, with the deep sea and warm people around.

The food Hiro makes is delicious, and his friends are friendly and welcoming too. Hiro himself is an incredible person, kind, approachable, and ready to help with whatever you need. The common spaces and rooms were clean and pleasant, and the price was very reasonable. It's a little far from Tottori Station, but buses go there if you keep an eye on the schedule. I have wonderful memories of my trip to Japan thanks to Hiro and his hospitality.
