Lake Toya is really close, with lovely views, and the house is beautiful with all the amenities. I stayed one night. The main downside is how far it is from everything. Even the nearest truly convenient Konbini is a long way off. There's a seicomart about a 15-minute walk away, but it closes.

A lovely, well-equipped unit with a balcony, free parking, and a nice wooden interior. Make sure you get the padlock code before arriving, since check-in is self-service. The operator hadn't sent it to us, so sorting things out on arrival was difficult. Apart from that, everything was great.

I spent three nights here on a ski trip, and the cabin was fantastic. It had three rooms, a sauna, and a fully equipped kitchen. It's close to the lake with lovely scenery, so I highly recommend it for a vacation.

The sauna is the best part. You can pour water on it to make steam and set the temperature how you like. The lodge is on the other side of Toyako Onsen town, in a great spot just a five-minute walk from the lake. There are lots of bugs around, though they're kept to a minimum.
