The location worked well for me, with the bus station very close by, handy when I had luggage, and the popular ryokans about a 15-minute walk away. Staff were friendly and courteous. I’m waiting for the café to open and can’t wait to try it. I’ll definitely come back in summer. This is one of the cleanest, nicest hostels I’ve stayed in. It seems like it used to be someone’s home, which gives it a cozy feel. There’s a sauna that looked cozy when I peeked inside, though I didn’t get to use it. The showers are roomy, with plenty of space to put clothes and change. They also provide amenities like face wash, toner, and lotion. I’d give it 9.5/10.

I went to THE TOYA today with a friend and really enjoyed it. The calm, elegant atmosphere came with beautiful views of the lake and mountains. Service was attentive and professional, and the details felt carefully considered. The dishes looked lovely and had delicate flavors. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the moment, highly recommended for anyone visiting Lake Toya.

The wagyu beef cut rice was a good option, and the Japanese curry was very tasty. I came for a late lunch. You can choose how spicy you want it, with levels that go hotter than the usual Japanese curry, and the servings are generous.

Being just steps from Lake Tōya made the location great, and I’d definitely come back. After a long, rainy day riding, I was so relieved to arrive and be welcomed with fresh towels and a thoughtful tour. The guesthouse has a sauna, which I’d never come across in one before, plus a cold bath right next to it. It felt incredibly refreshing. One of the staff made me a delicious curry to end the evening. The hospitality was exceptional, and I highly recommend the place.

Such a beautiful, comfortable spot, with great staff and an outstanding price. Hard to believe a place like this exists. It’s very modern, so don’t expect traditional styling.
