APA Hotel Stay Toyama

We had a great mountain view from our lovely room, and the staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The station is a bit far to reach on foot, but there are buses and taxis. I loved all the extras: a lounge with a free bar, massage chairs in a relaxation room, a sauna and onsen, plus a varied, delicious breakfast at no charge. They even put out free rice and curry for dinner from 9 to 10 pm. Easily the best hotel I've stayed at, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The room was decent for an overnight stop, and the bed, which I think was a super single, felt wide, comfortable, and not too firm. I slept well. It was clean, with good shower pressure and toiletries provided, though the bathroom was tiny. No big issue for just one night. I'd give the room four stars, but the rest of the hotel three. There's a large 7-11 right next door with plenty of drinks and other things. The hotel has two lifts, but they looked like they needed vacuuming. The shared lobby toilets also seemed long overdue for renovation. We ate dinner and breakfast in the ground-floor restaurant, and the common areas brought my rating down. The restaurant, lobby, and lifts need updating, and the wallpaper is peeling.

It's about a 10-minute taxi ride from Toyama station. The onsen is lovely, and there's a body massage machine available all day. Dinner is a very simple curry rice, while breakfast is complimentary and good.
