Music Uni Street Backpackers Hotel

We came for three nights and ended up staying the full two weeks. The quiet neighborhood has little shops and bakeries, and Shonai station is an easy eight-minute walk away, making it convenient to get to Kobe and Kyoto. At the hostel, there are three toilets, two showers, a shared TV area, and a kitchen you can use, with free coffee and tea. The single beds are quite wide, with a bedside table, lamp, and privacy curtains. Hiro the owner is the nicest person ever!!!

I was unsure about this kind of accommodation at first, since I'd never stayed in a hostel before, but I felt at home as soon as I arrived. The manager is really nice and all the staff are welcoming. It's near the train station, with shops and restaurants nearby, and the neighborhood is pretty calm. All in all, it's an excellent place and I'd definitely stay again.

This hostel felt like a little refuge for stories and adventures, and I loved my time here. Kiku-chan was a wonderful host, with just the right amount of wisdom to help travelers find their way. The neighborhood is full of lovely characters, and I made a lot of friends even with the language barrier. For me, the location was the best: about 10 minutes from the station, 10 minutes from Umeda Station, 20 to Namba and Dotonbori, and 40 from Kyoto. Family Mart is five minutes away, and there's a really cheap grocery store right across the street. It's tucked away from the usual tourist bustle, with countless hidden gems around. I felt like I got both the tourist side and a taste of local life. I'm so glad I found it!

The facilities are new and everything was very clean. It's a short walk to the train line, with a cheap ride of just 20-30 minutes from the airport. Breakfast is included, there's a small towel, and the kitchen area works well. The owner is very friendly and speaks great English. Definitely recommend!
