Sennen no yu Gonzaemon Ryokan

Our family of four stayed at Sennen-no-yu and couldn’t find anything to fault. The room was impeccably clean and well maintained, and the staff even prepared it for the night while we were at dinner. Both meals were delicious and thoughtfully presented, with a personal touch that brought in Japanese culture. Everyone was polite and helpful, and their excellent hospitality made our time at Kinosaki Onsen especially memorable. We wholeheartedly recommend Sennen-no-Yu to anyone looking for a wonderful Ryokan stay.

The dinner and breakfast set meals were lovely, with so much crab, and everyone was incredibly kind and accommodating. The location was perfect, and although the place is a little old, it was worth it in every other way. My husband left a piece of clothing behind, and they actually came to the train station to return it. So sweet! We’d stay here again if we come back to Kinosaki. There were a couple of noise problems. Sounds carry, and I had to ask a room of young adults to keep it down. Our room was also right above sliding doors that people started slamming around 7:00 am. Since we slept on the floor, we felt every slam. At least we’d gone to bed early. 😅

The room is a bit old, and I could hear noises from next door. The sitting area with the sink and toilet was cold too, though it was fine after we ran the heater all night. Aside from those things, we’d highly recommend this ryokan for a visit to Kinosaki. It’s conveniently close to most of the other onsens and a convenience store. The meals were fresh and delicious, and when we returned from visiting other onsens, our futons were already made. From check-in to checkout, the service was perfect. Everyone was friendly even though we knew very little Japanese, and Google Translate and body language helped us communicate.

The meals served in the room were very good, and the tea was excellent. Service was fantastic, both with meals and in the room. The host spoke or understood enough English to get by with travelers whose Japanese is limited. It’s very close to the town’s main strip and the other public onsens, and the public onsen pass is included with your stay. An excellent place to stay in Kinosakionsen.
