Toyota Prestige Hotel

For Rally Japan, this was the only hotel I found with rooms still available in reasonably priced packages that included tickets, especially with the Toyota City hotel discount. The location is handy, about 5 minutes from Toyota Stadium and 8 minutes from the train station, and the room was clean with a unit bath. You can buy craft beers at reception, and there was a small electric kettle in the room. The room also had a nice view, and parking and breakfast were included. Ms. Hayate gave excellent service and later made us feel very welcome. It's a business hotel, so the “Prestige Hotel” name shouldn't set expectations for anything extraordinary. There was no fridge or suitcase rack, and although there was room for them, there wasn't a chair or table. We arrived 10 minutes before the 3:00 PM check-in time and couldn't enter even though the room was ready and our luggage was already inside. That felt bureaucratic. At check-in, the young male receptionist, Masaki (?), wasn't very customer-oriented and insisted that I change my signature to the Japanese Kanji style, which made me uncomfortable. The amenities and customer service could be better, but the location and convenience made for a good stay.
