Hotel Nikko Tsukuba

Breakfast had a great selection, and the staff were excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they knew enough English to communicate effectively, even if things weren't lightning fast. The room was clean, in good repair, and perfectly fine. The enormous pool was the exception: it was empty and out of operation. This was my first stay, and I look forward to coming back.

The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good, especially the traditional Japanese dishes. The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from Tsukuba station and close to shopping malls. The city is quiet at night, though people seem to stay up late. Service was good.

The building looks old, but it seemed to be in good condition. It's near the station and very convenient for getting to sightseeing spots. I'd recommend staying here if you're visiting Tsukuba.

The people were friendly and helpful, but I had a horrible night's sleep. The room's air is centrally controlled, so I couldn't set the temperature myself. It was too hot for me, and opening the window made it cold, so I kept closing and opening it all night. There wasn't a cover sheet on the bed either, just a blanket or duvet, so I had to choose between sleeping bare in the hot room or using the blanket.
