For a cheap overnight stay, 5,000 JPY with breakfast is a decent deal, and there's a huge parking lot. But the services are cheap too. The bed and bathroom are small, the Wi-Fi has no security, and you can hear people talking in neighboring rooms. If you're on the first floor, breakfast smells may wake you up.
It's a good value if you've got a car, with a typical modern Japanese style and enough amenities. It's a bit far from any station. There's a small restaurant attached with good food, though having the same menu every day can get boring. Especially convenient for researchers at JIRCAS/NARO/MAFF.
The staff are really friendly, and the Western-style breakfast is good. The rooms are neat and tidy, though not that great. Nice hotel.
Breakfast being included makes the stay okay if you think of it as just a room, especially since the price was fairly reasonable. Some small things in the room weren't working right, but I suppose that's to be expected. The amenities and service felt a little lacking for the price. The chairs in the room could probably use replacing. If service quality goes up when the price is higher, I can accept that. If things stay the same, I have some reservations. Without breakfast included, my service rating might be a bit lower. With the high cost of living, some of this may be hard to avoid.
The wood-filled interior gives the building a relaxing feel, but getting around can be tricky. It has lots of steps, a bit like a training center, which may be difficult if you're carrying much luggage. The hotel is far from the station, and except for its own restaurant, there aren't restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so it's inconvenient without a car. Rooms are about the size of a standard business hotel single, with individual air conditioning, a refrigerator, and TV and WiFi that work without problems. The building has no bidet toilets in the rooms, though the shared toilets on the first and second floors do. Breakfast is free and simple, Western-style, but better than nothing for the price.
