Fairfield By Marriott Okayama Tsuyama

It was surprisingly quiet, with the hotel seeming pretty empty, perhaps because the rates are on the high side. The room was spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with very comfortable beds and a great bathroom. We also liked the boutique feel of the lobby and lounge, and parking right outside was easy. It’s a shame breakfast isn’t offered, even for Bonvoy elites. A simple bento breakfast box would have been an easy option.

The staff even helped after I’d checked out: I left something in the room, called, and they quickly found it and shipped it to my next stop. A handwritten note was tucked in with my things when they arrived. Throughout the stay, the reception team checked that everything was going well and suggested local places to visit. The hotel was spotless and well maintained, with excellent rooms and a convenience store next door. I’d happily pay the room rate again. I did wish there were an onsen or a tub in the room, but that was a small drawback. This would get more than five stars from me if I could give them.

The breakfast box was both tasty and generous, enough to keep you going until lunch. The rooms were lovely and spacious, and the facilities were great. A really amazing Marriott hotel in Okayama.

The breakfast box was really good, and there’s a shared kitchen area with a microwave, coffee, and tea. The new rooms are nice, and the lobby and lounge are pleasant. There’s also a small terrace where larger groups can relax together.
