The host made us feel completely at home, and the onsen was stunning. We had a memorable dinner and breakfast, too. One of the best places I've stayed in Japan. Highly recommend it.

The thoughtful meal service really stood out. We contacted Bessho Onsen Nanakusa no Yu a month ahead about vegetarian family members, and the kitchen put together a full vegetarian set, even checking whether dairy was okay. The fusion dishes were a delicious surprise. Staff were attentive from reception through the meals, with everyone going out of their way to help. The inn sits in a historic onsen town more than 1,000 years old, just a stone's throw from the renowned Kitamuki Kannon temple. If you're visiting Nagano, this charming town and Bessho Onsen Nanakusa no Yu's hospitality are worth experiencing.

The snacks served with tea were all delicious. I also appreciated the lovely pair of chopsticks they gave me after I mentioned my birthday in advance. Nakai-san was so welcoming, and the food left me very satisfied. The inn felt comfortable throughout, with clean, well-kept hallways, rooms, hot spring room, and dining area. I liked the cute souvenir ornaments in the lobby, which showed the landlady's excellent taste. Thank you very much.

After staying at luxury inns all over Japan, I still haven't found one with better service. I'm grateful to have this place nearby in Nagano Prefecture, and I'll definitely come back. This was my third visit, in February, and it works especially well for families with small children. Tatami throughout means you can walk around barefoot, and the play area keeps the kids from getting bored. The landlady and staff were attentive, and I was very happy with the hot springs and delicious food. Thank you.

The hot springs were so relaxing I wanted to go back in the middle of the night. I was also impressed by the people serving breakfast and dinner, who were helpful and shared information about tourist spots. On the morning I left, I got a call that put me in a good mood for the trip, and they checked my arrival time and took care of everything. The hotel was very clean, and everyone I met, from the woman who showed me to my room to the landlady and the people handling pickups and drop-offs, was so polite. I came alone for two days and one night on February 18th and 19th. I'd like to return in the fall!
