HOTEL R9 The Yard Uki

I came back for a second stay in July 2025, during a summer when the average temperature was 34 degrees. The air conditioning worked well enough to keep the room from getting too hot. It’s a little small, but should be fine for one person. There’s free parking, 7-11, and a microwave in the room. The bathroom and curtains were clean, and there’s a paid washing machine. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. If you’re okay with the size, I’d recommend it. I’d like to stay again when I return to Kumamoto.

Comfortable stay, and the staff were amazing!

I just needed somewhere to sleep, so I picked this affordable place that looked clean. Container hotels seem to be showing up more often these days, I wonder? I was a little excited to try one. The room was small but comfortable, and noise from next door didn’t bother me. It was funny how the room shifted slightly when I walked around. Parking was spacious and easy to use. They gave us a meal ticket to choose one item from the freezer. I wasn’t sure I’d need it, but the price was so reasonable that I couldn’t complain if I didn’t use it. I can see it being useful for some people, and it’s nice that the frozen food doesn’t go to waste when others don’t want it. The free coffee is a real plus. There’s a convenience store right next door, which is reassuring. We drove about five minutes to a restaurant, and the food there was very high quality.

My first stay in a container hotel went well. The room was spotless and had a microwave and small table. They also provided free frozen snacks and boxed lunches, which worked perfectly for breakfast. I especially liked being able to use the bath without worrying about other guests. With a convenience store next door, it has everything I need from a business hotel.
