Obama Onsen Ryokan Yunoka

Dinner and breakfast were fantastic, with lots of seafood and generous portions that left us very satisfied. We also had a lovely sea view from our bedroom. The rooftop onsens, both public and private, have amazing views, and the private one doesn’t cost extra, you just reserve a time at reception. The staff were great and very helpful. There’s parking in front, with a FamilyMart and foot onsen right beside the hostel. Good value.

The rooftop onsens have fantastic sea views, and the facilities are new. Staff were friendly too. Nearby, try Mishagaya, a restaurant run by the same owner. You can choose your own shellfish and fish and ask them to cook it in their “onsen ovens.”

The baths were great, and the location was great too.

April 2026 We parked smoothly in the lot on the ryokan grounds, and the staff gave us a thorough explanation at check-in before showing us to our room. It was a twin with a semi-open-air bath, and we were happy with the size of both the room and bath. We could see a little of the sea from the room. There are several private baths that need reservations, as well as the open-air bath in the room and an indoor bath. Hot spring lovers should be happy here. We booked the panoramic open-air bath for sunset, but it rained, so we missed the sunset. Even so, the view and bath were wonderful. Both meals were served in the dining area, but we had a private room and could take our time. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and so generous that we couldn’t finish everything. The staff were very helpful, and the price was reasonable. I’ll definitely come back to this ryokan.
