Ureshino Yadoya

Dinner blew me away, with fresh local ingredients and a style different from the generic kaiseki you often get at other ryokans. I also enjoyed the pleasant bar, and everyone was friendly. The ryokan brings in a slightly modern twist that fits its surroundings and rich history. You can really relax here. Faultless! 10/10, and I’d love to return one day!

There isn’t much to do around the location, which wasn’t the best. The stay itself was very kid friendly, with a kids room and play area on the ground floor. When our kids finished eating before we did, staff brought them toys to keep them entertained. Our spacious, clean room had a private onsen and extra tatami for the kids, and kids' and babies' amenities were provided. Meals were great quality, beautifully presented, and made with fresh local ingredients. Service was warm and welcoming.

We got a photo at the front as we left, a lovely way to remember our stay. All the staff were professional and warm, and one helped send my bag ahead to Narita airport, which made travelling with a 6 month old so much easier. For him, they also provided a diaper bin, bath toys, a high chair at dinner and breakfast, and a bed rail. The kids room was great too, and he loved the swings. Our room's hot spring was amazing. The water made my skin feel so soft, and my husband, who doesn't normally like baths, said it was the best bath he's ever had. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, seasonal, and all within 88km. The menu changed a little each night, which was thoughtful. I booked a massage and found it so relaxing, I wanted it to never end. They gave me a small vial of the essential oil they used, and its smell brings back the wonderful stay. We stayed for 2 nights recently and had a fabulous time. They were so accommodating with our 6 month old son.

The onsen and meals were great, and the hotel was nicely decorated and clean. We had a lovely experience and the service was great. The location was nice too, with easy access by JR Shinzansen or bus to and from Fukuoka International Airport, Tenjin, and Hakata.
