Hotel Flor

The station is nearby, the price is low, and the front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. But after I stayed there with a friend, I started wondering whether lots of guests use it like a love hotel. I can't really say what others were there for, though. The noise from next door kept me awake for a while in the middle of the night, lol. I seriously wouldn't recommend it for a solo stay or with friends. If you're a couple who likes that kind of atmosphere, maybe you'd have fun, lol.

I paid ¥4,960 through Agoda for a weekday stay in January 2026. For that price, it was cheap and about what I expected. The building initially reminded me of a shabby love hotel, though the man at the front desk was modest and kind. I said yes when he asked if I wanted a hair dryer, but then I was left wondering why one hadn't been provided. Once inside, I was relieved there was no smell or cigarette odor. The closet was battered, there were no hotel information pamphlets, and you really need to check the evacuation route. The toilet had no washlet, and the bathroom was attached. I found the missing shower curtain amusing. The old clock by the double bed didn't seem to work, and the desk drawers were stuck. Maybe that's typical for an inexpensive business hotel, but that's only my personal impression.

I come here pretty often for drinking parties. The rooms are old, though they are cleaned well. Smoking rooms are on the 5th floor, with an air purifier in the hallway, while floors 2-4 are non-smoking. The bathroom is small, with a tiled floor, and tape has been used to repair the joins between the unit bath and wall. Shower pressure is average. There's no washlet toilet. Beds range from semi-double to double, and the TV is 24 inches. The desk is only large enough for a 14-inch laptop. There seems to be a residential-style air conditioner, plus a separate air purifier. There is also a small refrigerator, though the temperature dial is broken in some rooms. It may suit people who just need to sleep and shower without taking a bath. Since it's inside an entertainment complex, karaoke and other noise can sometimes be heard, and now and then there are scenes that feel a bit like a love hotel.

The rooms have more space than a typical business hotel, and each has its own air conditioner. The fridge is there too, and both the TV and Wi-Fi worked fine. I last stayed before the change in management, when it felt like a cheap, tired love hotel, but it seems to have been renovated and is now clean and tidy. It's in the middle of the bar district, just 7-8 minutes on foot from the east exit of Utsunomiya Station, with restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The missing shower curtain and bidet seat are the only downsides, though they're understandable at this price. It's a low-cost place so close to the station.
