Four Points Flex by Sheraton Utsunomiya

Parking and a free breakfast of tasty breads and drinks were both handy. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and although the room was small, it did what I needed. It was quiet and had good ventilation. I enjoyed my stay!

The room was compact but laid out efficiently, with a long desk along the wall that was useful for unpacking. It had a mini fridge, electric kettle, and wall mounted TV, everything I needed for a short stay. The bed was comfortable enough, with crisp white linens and an accent pillow for a bit of color. The small unit style bathroom had a bathtub, toilet, and sink together, practical and neatly arranged. Outside, the modern clean lined exterior gave the hotel an urban feel, and the entrance sign was easy to spot and glowed warmly at night. Clean, smartly designed, and cozy, it worked well for a short stay😍

I liked being on a higher floor, with a nice view of the area. Getting to and from the station on foot can be unpleasant, though. My first night, I took the regular side streets and was stopped or pretty much harassed four times on the walk back from dinner nearby by people trying to get me to go to massage parlors or maid bars, of which there are many a block or two away. I’d suggest using the stone walkway that runs perpendicular from the hotel toward the station. It goes underground and splits into paths to the east and west entrances.

Huge room, and it’s a new hotel with new facilities.
