Minshuku Takesugi

Dinner was delicious, and I could get more rice by asking the staff. I also asked them to take care of my trash, which was a relief since dealing with garbage on the island can be tricky. The meal included fried flying fish, and I tried some of the island's “Aiko” sake too. The night before my last day on Yakushima, I wanted an affordable place with a bed and dinner, and somewhere I could dispose of trash. Hotels I found on Jalan were too expensive, but this guesthouse had a room for 8,800 yen with dinner included. My room was upstairs on the second floor with two single beds. Dinner began at 6:00, though I can't remember the end date.

Dinner was delicious, and the price was 8,000 yen+ for one person including dinner. I couldn't get the Wi-Fi to connect, and the room had thin walls and a faint cigarette smell. Is that good value?

The staff were really nice and friendly, and the airport is about 10 minutes away. It's a pretty normal guesthouse, with rooms spread over three floors. Those stairs got tiring. 😓 Breakfast was the usual grilled fish, raw egg, seaweed, a side dish, ham, natto, and miso, and you could get more rice.
