Yakunoyado Taguchi

Meals were plentiful, nutritious, and delicious, and the guesthouse was clean and comfortable with the amenities we needed. Our family-run guesthouse hosts were kind, friendly, and full of useful island tips and recommendations. It’s well located, with local shops and restaurants and the ferry port not too far away. A perfect stay 😊

The house was immaculately clean, the restrooms smelled good, and the room air conditioning worked very well. Taguchi san went out of his way to help us, picking my wife and me up at the airport and giving us several other rides. We’d come to Yakushima without an international driver’s license, and he helped us get settled and work out the bus system. His wife was also very friendly and made us feel at home. There are plenty of reasons I’d stay at the Taguchi guesthouse again on my next Yakushima visit. If you can, I doubt you’ll regret staying with the Taguchi’s on this heavenly island. 🌺

The room was spotless, had all the amenities I could ask for, and came with comfortable futons in a great location. Hitomi-san and Shigeru-san were the real stars, along with Ume-sama, of course 😺. They’re wonderful, helpful hosts. Thanks for the great tips, amazing meals, and warm hospitality!

The dinners were one of my favorite parts of staying at Yakunoyado Taguchi, with lots of variety and very fresh local fish. I’d definitely come back. The place was spotless and quiet, and the simple room was perfectly fine for a short stay. The futon was comfortable, and having a fridge available was a plus. The hosts were friendly, answered my questions promptly before I arrived, picked me up from the port, and helped book a local taxi to the hiking trail start.
