Parking costs 1,000 yen for the whole day, so keep that in mind if you're driving. The rooms use old-fashioned physical keys, and they won't give you a spare. Check-in is strictly at 3 pm, with checkout at 10 am. There's only a heater, no air conditioning, and the windows are locked, so the room can end up too hot or too cold. Not the cheapest place nearby, and it has too many shortcomings.

The location worked well as a base for exploring Yamagata prefecture, and we used the basement parking. The staff were lovely, and the hotel sits right in central Yamagata city. The rooms and decor feel a bit dated, like its best days are behind it.

The breakfast buffet was fantastic and added a lot to the stay. Rooms are clean and noticeably more spacious than what you get in Tokyo, though the style is a little old-fashioned. Everything worked perfectly. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, which is the one drawback.

For a simple business hotel stay, this was all I needed. The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and a great city view. It was also fairly spacious, which I hadn't expected at such a low room price. Great value, and I'd recommend it.

The room had a nice view from the window and was spacious and comfortable. Service was good, everything was clean, and breakfast offered plenty of variety. I was very impressed, and would stay here again if I return.
