Ajisu Onsen Teshima Ryokan

The landlady's child and I got to chat about Splatoon, and there was an unbelievably cute cat around too. I also learned about a cat rescue group that described itself as a "place of life."

Having breakfast while watching the cats was so calming, and this is a place cat lovers really should stay. I spent two weekend nights here while attending the Wild Bunch, and the help with transportation and everything else was much appreciated. It was a lot more comfortable than the local festival in Kyoto, and I'm already planning to come back next year. Even if I have another chance to visit, I'd stay here for reasons beyond the festival. I know protecting the animals must bring plenty of challenges, and I wholeheartedly support what you do. Thanks for looking after us for two days. Keep it up, young director!

The cats seemed to have room to enjoy petting time without too much stress. The ones used to being around people came downstairs, while the less accustomed cats stayed upstairs. I first bought a Nekoniwa T-shirt and ended up staying here too. Eating the delicious food while the cats played nearby felt heavenly, and the portions were just right, with about 3mm extra. They gave us a tote bag to take to the bath, and we got to keep it as a souvenir. I'd be happy to visit again.

I really relaxed spending time with so many cats at the shelter. The building seemed old, but it had been renovated beautifully, and the food was delicious too.
