The window had a beautiful view, and the bed was warm and comfortable. The independent cabin was more spacious than I expected, and the house was clearly well looked after, with the host’s care showing in little things. The kind, warm-hearted host made it easy to feel at ease, and the stay had a relaxing vacation feel. This was my favorite place on the trip. I wish the itinerary had allowed more than one night, and I hope I can visit again.

We’ve been coming since before the pandemic, and still plan to return for the delicious food. It’s especially suited to families wanting to relax, and the separate cottages, hardwood floors, and low beds make it easy to stay with infants and toddlers, even if a child cries at night. Our kids are in elementary school now, but we still love visiting. We came again in 2025. Since COVID-19 was reclassified to Category 5, dinner is now served in the dining hall, while breakfast comes to the room like a picnic set. We’ve stayed many times, and when we asked why the family beside us had different dishes, we were told they try to serve something different each time. That’s been true on every visit, and we’ve enjoyed it all. Steak, free-range chicken, pork bowl, I especially want that one again. We love meat, so we’re already looking forward to the next visit!

The owners are so lovely, and the Italian food was wonderful. Every course dish was delicious and satisfying. Since the accommodation is in a separate building, we could relax without worry, with a view of Mt. Fuji. Winter is cold, but the sky full of stars is beautiful. It’s sad that this lovely inn will close temporarily in August 2025. When the time comes, I hope we can warmly support the owners as they start again in a different form and help them in some way.

The owners were both so nice, and the staff were attentive. The rooms are separate and small, but just right for a family with two young kids. Ours was clean and had plenty of toys suited to the children’s gender. We only booked breakfast, and the freshly baked bread was delicious. The self-service setup let us eat in a relaxed way without worrying. It’s a bit of a walk to the lake, so I’d recommend having a car.
