Dinner was good, and the service there was good too. But the room’s air purifier was awful. I took out the filter and water tank and found what looked like bacteria biofilm all around them. I’m sure terrible germs could infect you if you switch it on without cleaning it. This is the first purifier like that I’ve found in Japan. Please be careful.

The room feels a bit outdated, and the food was disappointing. My Japanese friend didn’t even finish her breakfast. The Onsen was okay.

I had a package with a luxurious lunch and a hot spring bath. The regular menu had various lunch choices, but my meal was especially good: tempura of sweetfish, red snapper and shrimp, green tea soba noodles, pork hot pot, sweet simmered sweetfish, and a small side dish. The hot spring water felt wonderfully smooth and left my skin silky. It wasn’t crowded, so I could relax in a private bath. The forest around this mountain location was soothing. I’d definitely like to go again.
