Nest Hotel Hiroshima Ekimae

The staff were super friendly, and it was good value in a good location. Still, the heavily stained carpet took away from an otherwise favorable stay. The marks on the light-colored carpet made the room feel unclean. A large bench sofa also took up space that could have fit a small table.

We were only in Hiroshima for a short stay, and the location was super convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the main station. There’s also free breakfast with pastries, coffee, and juice. The staff were patient and courteous, and quick to sort out our issue. I’d booked through a travel agency, but they reserved an economy room of 11 m2 instead of two twin beds. Staff let us pay to upgrade, and it was totally worth it. The room with two beds was spacious enough for two, the bathroom was nice, and you can request room cleaning.

The bed was small, and the pillows were awful: one was as thin as paper, the other hard as a bag of cement. The room smelled strongly unpleasant, like grease or tallow, and it was hard to feel comfortable. I stayed just one night while passing through, after a month traveling in Japan where even subway bathrooms are spotless, so the condition of this hotel was a shock. The room looked dirty, with stained carpet, a dusty bathroom light bulb, grime on the walls, and streaks on the TV. I checked older reviews and saw these complaints had been repeated for months, with the hotel replying that it would “take it into account.” It’s even more disappointing to know about the problems and see nothing done. A very negative stay. Given cleanliness standards in Japan, this place falls far short. Definitely not recommended.

It was a quiet place, reasonably priced, and in a great location. The room had stains all over the carpet, even though it had been vacuumed and cleaned. It looked so gross that I ended up throwing towels on the floor to walk on.
