I had a really comfortable stay with my dog. The room was spacious and clean, and I could cook there and relax with the TV. The service was good too: they responded quickly when I called unexpectedly, which helped me feel safe and at ease.
We stayed with our dog in this lovely penthouse near Nagarekawa, where you can rent a whole apartment. I'd recommend it for more than one night. There are lots of parking spaces nearby, with overnight parking topping out around 800 yen, and finding food is easy. You can also walk along the river nearby. The room has amenities, a bed, fridge, sink, and induction cooker, among other things. The only thing you'd need to bring is a rice cooker. I wish there were more places like this around the country, so people could travel all over with their pets.
We chose this place because it was cheap, and the room was spacious and nice for traveling with our dog. But around 2 a.m., someone tried the door and rang the bell. When we opened it, three young people said they'd just booked this room. We called the hotel's number again and again, but it was always busy and we couldn't reach anyone. I asked whether their reservation might be for after we'd checked out the next morning, but they insisted they'd just reserved this room number. I told them it was awful to be woken in the middle of the night and asked them to leave. I checked my confirmation email and the date and name were correct. I was so upset that I couldn't sleep until morning. It's easy to say there's no front desk, but it also feels scary that anyone can just walk in. I hope the hotel looks into how this happened and what should be done about it.
We were comfortable in the very spacious room, although I found the mattress a bit too soft and squishy. That's just my personal preference, but it's why I gave four stars. The nearby area was lively and convenient. Since dogs can't be left alone outside at all, we ordered takeout, including okonomiyaki, and ate in the room.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and worked well for our family of four. The water worked properly, and the staff were especially friendly. Check-in might sound tricky, but I didn't find it too difficult. It's about a five-minute walk from Kanayamacho. The downtown area is close enough for sightseeing, while the room itself was quiet. I'd like to come back when the weather is a little warmer.
