We had a truly amazing two-night stay, with such friendly staff, great food, and impeccable service. The rooms have been renovated so beautifully and seamlessly. It’s a lovely place to slow down, relax, and take in the history. An absolute must-stay.

The breakfast was memorable, especially the tofu dish, and the rooms and gardens were beautiful. Everyone on staff was welcoming and very professional. In the lounge, coffee, milk, sake, and refreshing sparkling vinegar were available at no extra charge, with a good range of drinks to choose from.

What stood out most to me was the people. There was always someone smiling, welcoming, and ready to help, and they went above and beyond to make my stay unforgettable. My room was spotless, and the window above the bed framed a view like a painting. Staying at Ohana felt peaceful and serene. I also appreciated the facility’s efforts to protect nature and be sustainable. The location is lovely, the Ryokan breakfast is a must, and the history of the place is incredible.

The staff’s hospitality keeps getting better with each visit, and I’d happily return again and again. This was my second stay since the renovation, and the updated rooms were exceptional, with careful attention to the facilities and amenities. I could relax while taking in the building, designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and the scenic SHOTOEN Garden. Thank you for another wonderful experience. I’ll probably be back at Ryokan Ohana soon.

The house itself is huge, with impressive traditional architecture and design. It was once a samurai’s residence, and there are authentic samurai artifacts to see, along with information about their history. The museum is small, but I found it really interesting, and the items are well preserved. A unique, memorable visit in Yanagawa, especially for anyone curious about Japanese culture or history.
